DER RING DES NIBELUNGEN
The New Opera has completed
the greatest and most ambitious work for an opera company to undertake, the operatetralogy DER RING DES NIBELUNGEN by Richard Wagner. A project of that magnitude should be impossible for a company the size of The New Opera, but after the performance of DAS RHEINGOLD 2003 it was clear to see that the small company is able to meet the enormous demands Wagner’s music makes. In 2005 followed DIE VALKÜRE, in 2007 SIEGFRIED and in 2008 the Ring was completed with the performance of GÖTTERDÄMMERUNG.
The press has praised the project to the skies and this success is not least a result of a soloist team ranking among the best in the world together with an extremely well playing South Jutland Symphony Orchestra.
